Have faith

With preparations for the Commonwealth Games so much behind schedule, most people are understandably worried. At a recent function to launch the website of Business Club India (a joint initiative of the organising committee of the Commonwealth Games and CII), Sports Minister MS Gill had some words of, well, reassurance. Gill cited the movie Monsoon Wedding and spoke of how one of the protagonists, Naseeruddin Shah, was very nervous as the preparations for his daughter’s wedding were way behind schedule. But, in the end, Gill said, everything worked out fine — the same, he said, would happen with the Games scheduled for October 2010. Here’s to faith.
