Congress leaders said that Krishna, 82, lacked mass support

Taking a dig at S M Krishna, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) recently, Congress leaders have said the only three top posts they could not give the Karnataka leader were those of prime minister, vice-president and president of India; the saffron party may now offer any of these to the former Congress leader. There is already speculation within the BJP on who the party’s choice could be for the posts of president and vice-president, elections for which are expected in July-August. Congress leaders added that Krishna, 82, lacked mass support and was inducted into the BJP more for
