Letters: 2G inferences

This refers to Aditi Phadnis’ column “On a low note” (Plain Politics, October 1). The recent spat between Pranab Mukherjee and P Chidambaram and the subsequent cover-up have seen bureaucrats being made scapegoats. There were strange arguments from the Congress camp — seeing the controversial note is not the same thing as approving it! This amounts to disowning the responsibility for a communication admittedly drafted by a junior officer but cleared by the finance minister.
