Letters: Not a balanced view

Business Standard New Delhi
It seems that T C A Srinivasa-Raghavan has written the article, "The law of the rule" (June 19) only to blame Narendra Modi without providing substantial proof of the prime minister's failure to keep bureaucrats in line. The writer has not mentioned what ills the bureaucrats are guilty of and how Modi could have stopped them during his two years in office. The article does not state any measure that would improve the situation.

While Srinivasa-Raghavan has credited the Reserve Bank of India governor for controlling inflation, he has conveniently forgotten to write anything, forget praising, the government's prudent fiscal policy, which had a bigger role in the matter. Little increase in the minimum support price, tightening the deficit, reducing the current account deficit and lowering the small savings interest rates are some of the measures that checked inflation.
