Shiv Sena has been relentlessly criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), its coalition partner in Maharashtra. The Sena takes potshots at the Narendra Modi-led BJP government mostly through its mouthpiece, Marathi-language newspaper Saamana. Party president Uddhav Thackeray and some other senior leaders have also been vocal in their criticism of many of BJP’s policies. Sena scion and Uddhav’s son Aditya Thackeray has just jumped on the trolling bandwagon. Replying to the PM’s tweet asking the media to play a more active role while reporting on climate change, he said,

“Sir, in Mumbai, (the) media (is) already reporting but (the) government needs to act and stop destroying Aarey (milk colony). (It) needs to shift car shed and not destroy environment.”
