Praising an appraisal

At a recent event to mark the launch of an insurance pool, the closing remarks with the vote of thanks went on for much longer than usual. Apart from thanking the speakers and guests, the gentleman giving the vote of thanks also mentioned that he had got a bigger and better-than-expected appraisal at his workplace this year and that was one of the reasons he was particularly happy to be part of the launch.
