Coaching institutes have become a target of the I-T department

One of the recession-proof sectors, coaching institutes have become a favourite target of the income tax department. A tax officer involved with rich hauls from some of these institutes across India said it was surprising that there were institutes in Delhi that specialised in teaching accountancy and related disciplines, yet they were not able to tie up their own accounts properly to “pass” a tax survey. Students could be forgiven, if they choose to ask for refunds from such institutes.
