DRDO is the commonly recognised abbreviation for the government's key defence research body. But for officers of enforcement agencies, it holds an altogether different meaning. In their parlance, it refers to the fact that procedures that need to be followed for investigating government officials keep changing, depending on the rank of the official concerned. In this context, DRDO stands for "different rule for different officer," a senior officer quipped.
