Eighty-three-year-old Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray’s message at the annual Dussehra rally that he would travel extensively in the state if his health permitted has sent shockwaves through the ruling Congress-Nationalist Congress Party alliance and the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS). Though the Assembly elections are four years away, Thackeray’s missiles are considered powerful enough to embarrass the ruling combine and lure back Sena members who have joined Raj Thackeray’s MNS.
