The Forward Bloc, a constituent of the Left Front, today hinted that it would seek allocation of more seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

In the last parliamentary polls, the party had contested from three out of 42 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.

Party general secretary Debabrata Biswas told a press conference at the end of its two-day central committee meeting that all Left parties would fight the Lok Sabha poll unitedly with a common manifesto and strategy throughout the country.

"The Left parties conduct struggles and programmes jointly, but when the election time comes they fight separately, which helps anti-Left forces to reap benefits," Biswas said.

Biswas also said that the Forward Bloc had constituted a three-member commission to inquire into the alleged violation of party discipline by Naren Chatterjee.
