Releasing its 22- point election manifesto, main opposition in Madhya Pradesh, Congress, has promised 3 kg dal at Rs 25 per kg to people living below poverty line. The Congress has also promised that it would ensure subsidy on three additional cooking gas cylinders to every household at state expenses. It would be additional to the central subsidy offered on nine cylinders.
To protect women and girls in the state, the Congress promised to offer free mobilephone to mother and her girl, once she enters her teens. "The scheme will be named as Ma-Beti Sampark Yojana," Pachauri said. "We will also ensure 35 kg ration per family for poor people free of cost," Suresh Pachauri, senior Congress leader and chairperson of Manifesto committee of the party said here.
The party has also promised to set up Legislative Council in state assembly.

"It was long pending demand we will set up as soon as we will come to power," Pachauri said.
Listing the populist promises, Pachauri said agriculture loans of Rs 51,000 will be waived off provided they have been obtained from land development bank and cooperative bank, besides free power up to 5 horsepower capacity irrigation pumps.
The party has said it will also ensure 12-hours regular power to farmers and withdraw all fake power-theft cases against them.
"Free medical and clinical check-up and free medicine distribution schemes will be launched in all government hospitals since ruling BJP has disturbed entire health system," said Pachauri adding, "we will form a policy so that each medical college will have at least one super-specialty facility." For youth the party has promised to set up an employment call center, 50 per cent reservation to women in government jobs and youth policy will also be formed. The unemployed youth will be given unemployment allowance and free job-oriented training.
