Stung by the leak, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday warned his Telangana counterpart, K Chandrashekhar Rao, of serious consequences, stating he too had the powers and the police in Hyderabad.
“The inefficient KCR had hatched this conspiracy against me. You will not be saved if I decide to act in the same way,” angry Naidu roared at a massive public rally held in Guntur marking the completion of one year in office on Monday.
Terming the leaked phone conversation as just a fake document, Naidu, however, accused the Telangana government of tapping his phone. “Hyderabad is a joint capital and both the governments have equal rights for full 10 years. Who gave you the authority to tap my phone?” he questioned.
Naidu reminded the people of Andhra Pradesh that he always maintained that the subject of law and order of Hyderabad must in the hands of the Governor.
The AP chief minister said the Telangana government had crossed all the limits by targeting the chief minister of another state. He appealed to the people to rally around him to fight “such conspiracies”. “I have always lived an upright and honest public life. No one can tarnish my image,” he said.
Naidu also accused KCR of buying his party MLAs and members of other political parties to increase his strength in the Assembly.
