Herman Miller launches exclusive showroom in Bangalore

Announcement  |  Corporate

Herman Miller will be launching their first exclusive showroom in Bangalore owned by Bearys Innomark (vertical of Bearys Group) -the full line dealer of Herman Miller in Bangalore on 25th March, 2011. The showroom named “His Grace“ at Residency Road promises to be the next best shopping destination for office furniture.

The showroom is designed keeping in mind the innovation and environmental sensitivity that both Herman Miller and the Bearys group embody. The space is conceived as a backdrop to complement the creative range of furniture within the transparent shell of His Grace – a commercial space on Residency Road which is an initiative of Bearys group. The design will explore this transparency to create a space which speaks of accessibility both visually and physically from “outside – in” as well as “inside-out”. This also helps in integrating with the landscape which expresses one of the core ideologies of Herman Miller and Bearys Group’s, of commitment to the environment.

Jeremy Hocking (Vice President, Asia Pacific) opines ”We’re very excited about the launch of our First Exclusive Showroom in Bangalore. Herman Miller has been active in this country for about 10 years now. But we have decided to take this initiative into the next level. With existing presence in all the major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai , Hyderabad and Kolkata, we are expanding into the smaller cities such as Cochin, Ahmedabad, Surat, Ludhiana and Pune. We plan to have around 10 new showrooms by mid of 2011 and want to make the brand available in the corporate segment as well as retail.”

The planning of the store exudes flexibility complementing the highly engineered knock down and easy to assemble capability of the products which is more of a necessity than luxury today.  The design of the display system draws on the notion of   human spine to create a fluid platform on which chairs can be displayed at various levels. This fluid element also helps in connecting the two levels of the showroom into one continuous experience.  Here nature in the form of water, greenery and earth integrates with the man made industrial sophistication of the products and the designed space to create a unique memorable retail experience.
