Assam govt unveils PMIS for IAS, ACS officers

Unveiling the system in his official residence here, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi stressed on the importance of including government employees of other categories also under the PMIS.

The PMIS is a package on personal information about employees in government departments and its subsidiaries.

"Use of new and scientific technology would help increase productivity of employees and help to remove any anomalies or shortcomings," Gogoi said.

The chief minister also said that use of IT enabled services would help in reducing dependence on paperwork and also help the environment.
