Bandh supporters arrested

Business establishments, educational institutions and central government offices were closed, while attendance in state government offices was thin despite a government order to employees to attend duty.

A few state transport buses were on the roads, while commercial vehicles were absent.

The shutdown which began at 5:00 am was peaceful except for one incident of bandh enforcers damaging a vehicle from Assam at Banderdewa, Capital Superintendent of Police Hibu Tamang said.

He said that 18 bandh supporters were arrested.

The All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Forum, All Nyishi Youth Council and Arunachal Abo Tani Clans Youth Organization called the bandh to protest the state government
