Customs personnel today recovered 1.5 kg gold bar from a Bangkok-Kolkata flight and apprehended a passenger at the NSC Bose International airport here.
An airport official said a 500g gold bar was found concealed in the life jacket pouch of a passenger Siraz Hussein during frisking after he disembarked from a Spicejet aircraft.
In subsequent raid, the security agencies and customs found 1 kg of gold bar tucked below a seat in the same plane.
The total value of the gold bar was estimated to be Rs 41 lakh.
