A 29-year-old woman was killed and nine people were injured today after their car fell into a 100-metre-deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district, police said.
The accident took place near the Murari Mata temple where they were going to offer prayers, they said.
The victims, belonging to Bilaspur, were members of the same family, police said.
The injured were admitted to the Civil Hospital in Sundernagar, they said
It is suspected that the car fell into the gorge after the driver lost control over the vehicle, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sundernagar, Taranjeet Singh said.
The car's driver fled the spot after the accident. He has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Singh said.
