1 killed, another seriously injured in lightning

A youth was killed and another seriously injured when lightning struck at Barasat in North 24 Parganas district this afternoon.

Police said a group of youth were playing in open field at Kadambagachhi area when they were struck by the thunderbolt during rains.

As two of them fell on the ground, they were rushed to Barasat State General Hospital where one was declared brought dead.

Condition of the other youth was serious.
