Eleven child labourers from Odisha and Bihar were today rescued from a spinning mill here by anti-child labour project officials.

The children, including six girls, were aged under 14 and were found working in the PKPN Spinning mill during a surprise check carried out by the officials led by Inspector of Factories Anita Rosalin Mary, officials said.

Three of the girls belonged to Odisha and the others were from Bihar, they said, adding arrangements were made for sending back the children to their home towns under the directions of District Collector V Dakshinamurthy.

Stern action would be taken against the owner of the mill for engaging child labour, officials said.
