Eleven people were killed and a driver is on the run following a gruesome road accident in northern Sierra Leone, police said on today.
The group was travelling on a truck loaded with sacks of mangoes which nosedived off a narrow bridge near Tambiama village in Bombali district on yesterday, police said in a statement.
The victims included six men and five women, one of whom was pregnant.

Nine other passengers were seriously hurt. They were admitted to the government hospital in Mankeni, six miles from the scene.
The police said the driver is on the run.
