11 held while making illicit liquor

Eleven people were arrested while making illicit liquor in Deoria district today, police said.

A police team carried out a raid in Gaura Bazar area and arrested 11 people making illicit liquor, IG (Law and Order) Amrendra Sengar said.

A large quantity of liquor, packing machines and material used for making illicit liquor, besides holograms of the state excise department were also recovered from them, Sengar said.

A cash reward of Rs. 10,000 has been given to the police team which made the recovery, he said.
