Eleven persons were injured, in a clash between two factions, allegedly belonging to Trinamool Congress, at Chanchol in Malda district today.

Police said the two factions clashed over area control and hurled crude bombs at each other and the injured included people passing by, including six women.

Of the 11 injured, four were referred to Malda Sadar Hospital.

Police later arrested four persons from the area and the situation was under control.

While some local people claimed the two warring sides belong to rival factions of TMC, police said the identity of the two groups were not confirmed.

TMC district leadership said whoever was involved in the clash should be treated according to the law but the party was not involved.
