: A child labourer from Uttar Pradesh has been rescued by labour department officials from a bar in Sasta near Kota in Udupi district.
The boy, hailing from Sindan,a village in Bandra district of Uttar Pradesh, was employed in the bar as a cleaner for the last few months.
Labour department office officials raided the bar with the help of police after receiving complaints from locals.

Official sources said the boy was brought to the bar by a family acquaintance from his state. He was forced to take up the job on account of the family's poor financial background.
The boy had been rehabilitated in an institution at Keduru near Udupi, district senior labour officer H P Jnanesh said.
