14-yr old girl abducted, reunites with father

A 14-year old girl was abducted by three men before being dumped near the Bokmagre petrol pump on the outskirts of Tura in West Garo Hills of Meghalaya and later reunited with her father

The mentally challenged girl was near her house when she was forcefully pushed into an auto at about 6 pm on Jan 6, a police officer said.

She was dumped near the petrol pump and rescued by social activists at about 4 pm last evening and later handed over to the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) to know what exactly happened.

The girl insisted that she had not been sexually assaulted and hence was allowed to go home with her father who came to Tura police station.
