16-year-old girl shoots herself

A 16-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself at her residence in south west Delhi, police said today.

Puja, a resident of Palam, shot herself with her grandfather's gun last night, a senior police official said adding that she had been depressed after her parents had recently separated.

The girl shot herself when she was at home with her grandmother. Hearing the gunshot, the grandmother rushed to the girl's room to find her in a pool of blood.

No suicide note was found, the officer said.
