2.5 kg gold seized from air passenger

Gold nuggets weighing 2.5 kg and worth about Rs 64 lakh were seized from a passenger who arrived at the airport here, customs officials said today.

The undeclared gold was found in the hand baggage of Mohammed Ferozkhan of the city, a frequent traveller to Sri Lanka, last night, they said.

Further investigation was on.
