2 cops suspended

Two police

officers were suspended, on different charges, in Palamu and Garwah districts today.

A senior police officer said Pintu Kumar, a youth, had been kept in the police custody for last four days without any station diary having been lodged by the Officer-In-charge of Patan police station, Bipin Kumar.

After this came to light following an inspection by the DIG (Palamu), Praveen Kumar Singh, Kumar, the concerned officer-in-charge, was placed under suspension by the DIG.

Besides, Singh also suspended the officer-in-charge of Garwah police station Lileshwar Mehta in adjoining Garwah district on charges of negligency on duty, the senior officer said.
