2 engineering students drown

Two final year students of a private engineering college drowned in Birupa river near Haveli village in Odisha's Kendrapara distirct today.

The mishap took place when the two had gone to the river for a bath and were caught in strong river water current, police said

The deceased were identified as Biswa Ranjan Pati (22), a native of Indupur in Kendrapara district and Diptiman Jena (22) of Nadipada village of Keonjhar district.

Local people assisted the fire brigade personnel in fishing out the bodies.
