Two extortionists, including a
Secondary examinee, were today arrested in Malda district for making monetary demand to several businessmen in north Bengal.
SP Rajesh Yadav said Amit Sarkar and Dipu Mahato were arrested and their mobiles seized by a police team.
It was not confirmed if the duo had any links with the separatist Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO), he said to a question.
Police first apprehended Amit from an examination centre in Habibpur area this afternoon, the SP said. After interrogating him, Dipu was rounded up from elsewhere in the district.
The call lists of the two mobiles were being checked.
