Two girl students were killed while three others, including their teacher, injured when a car hit their two-wheelers on Malerkotla-Ludhiana highway here today.
The two girls and their teacher were rushed to a Ludhiana hospital in a critical condition, police said, adding that Krishna Rani and Arshdip Kaur were killed in the accident.
The students were returning from tuition on a scooter and a motorcycle when the car hit them near Ratolan village.
Infuriated over alleged apathy of Malerkotla civil hospital authorities over their alleged failure in providing immediate medical assistance to the victims, some villagers blocked traffic on the highway.
