As the national capital reeled under severe cold wave, two homeless persons were found dead in different parts of Delhi today.

A 30-year-old man was found dead near a night shelter in Fatehpuri, while the death of a 85-year-old man was reported from Polli Kothi area in Lahori Gate, police said.

"As of now it seems that these two persons have died due to cold... However, if nobody comes to claim the bodies within 72 hours then police will conduct a post-mortem," said an official from Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) control room.

The deaths were confirmed by NGO Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (SPYM), which manages the night shelters in these areas. The bodies have been taken to a hospital.
