2 killed as car collides with tractor-trolley

A man and his daughter were killed and two others injured when their car and a sugarcane-laden trolley collided near Mitli village, triggering protests by locals who blocked the road for hours, police said.

Pradeep (35) and his 11-year-old daughter Manisha were killed on the spot last night in the mishap, they said, adding, Pradeep's son and another person were injured.

The driver of the tractor-trolley fled the spot leaving his vehicle, police said.

Locals staged a protest following the accident, disrupting vehicular traffic for hours which was restored after pacifying the protesters, they said.
