Two women were killed in a village in Madhubani district of Bihar today, when a beam of the roof of their house collapsed.
Police officials said the incident happened at Jamsam village under Pandaul police station in the district.
The deceased have been identified as sister-in-laws Ruby Devi (24) and Bharti Devi (22).
"The house belonged to one Ram Niranjan Chaudhary and was an old one. The beam suddenly collapsed and fell on the two women, killing them on the spot. We have sent the bodies to Madhubani town for postmortem," said Pandaul Station House Officer (SHO) Rupak Ranjan Singh.
