2 women remanded for violation of Forest Act

A local court here today remanded two women to judicial custody after they were arrested on charges of violating Forest Act.

The charges against the two women include alleged stocking of a huge quanity of sandalwood and bamboo in their homes in violation of the Act.

The forest produce was seized and the women were arrested and produced before the Attur judicial magistrate's court.

After recording the initial submissions, the court remanded them to custody.
