21 fishermen arrested by Lankan navy; remanded to custody

Twenty one fishermen have been arrested by Sri Lankan naval personnel while they were fishing off Mannar and detained by a court in the island nation, fisheries department officials said.
The fishermen, who had put out to sea from Mandapam and Rameswaram yesterday in five boats, were arrested last night, they said.
They were produced today before a magistrate at Mannar who remanded them to judicial custody, the sources said.
