29 candidates file nominations for 2nd phase of polls

Twenty nine candidates have so far filed their nominations for the second phase of elections in nine constituencies of three districts in Jammu region.

"There are nine assembly constituencies in the three districts of Poonch, Reasi, and Udhampur and so far 29 candidates have filed their nomination papers," an official of Election Commission said.

In the three assembly constituencies of Reasi district, 15 candidates have so far filed their nomination papers which include five in Gulabgarh, three in Reasi and seven in Gool Arnas, the official said.

Similarly, in the three assembly constituencies of Udhampur district, eight candidates have so far submitted their nomination papers.
 

"In Udhampur assembly segment so far we have received five nomination papers, in Chenani we have received three nomination papers, whereas in Ramnagar assembly segment nobody has filed the nomination papers so far," the official said.

In Poonch district, two candidates filed nominations each from Poonch, Mendhar, and Surankote constituencies, the official said.

November 11 is the last date for filing the nomination papers for the second phase of the assembly elections.

The polling for the second phase would take place on December 2.
