Three persons including a liquor contractor and a gymnasium owner died after being shot at while two others sustained gunshot wounds when some armed persons allegedly opened fire at their vehicle in Haryana's Karnal town today, police said.
The victims, said to be in the age group of 30-40 and belonging to Karnal, were travelling in a SUV when they were attacked by the assailants.
The assailants allegedly opened indiscriminate fire at the victims, they said.

"Three persons have died in this incident after they were shot at," Karnal SP Pankaj Nain said over phone.
He said old enmity appeared to be the reason behind the crime.
"A FIR has been registered and we are conducting further investigations. We have identified one of the accused in the case," he said.
