3 lakh take holy dip at Chandrabhaga

About three lakh people took holy dip at "Arka Kshetra" (Sun God's Place), popularly known as Chandrabhaga, near Konark in the sea this morning, police said.

The people from within the state and outside thronged the sea beach last night on the occasion of Magha Paptami (the seventh day of Magha month in Hindu calender).

According to mythology, taking a dip early in the morning at Chandrabhaga and having darshan of the rising Sun fulfils all the wishes of the devotees and washes all their sins. Their family also remains healthy all along the year.
