Three Manipuri youths, one of them a minor, were arrested by Delhi police today at around 3 am for illegally entering the campus of Mount Carmel School in Anand Niketan south Delhi with the alleged intention of committing burglary and vandalising the institute.

William Hangsha (19), Rohul Moirangthen (20) and the minor were arrested by police who were posted at the school and a torch and a screw driver were recovered from them.

The cops' attention was attracted by the commotion created when Rohul fell to ground after being injured by the glass embedded on top of the eight-feet-tall wall, around the school, while scaling it.

They said that during their interrogation, it was revealed that accused William and Rohul were students of the school and had appeared in board examination of class 12 this year. While William had cleared his 12th, Rohul could not clear one of his his Accountancy paper and will have to re-appear.

Rohul, who had been scolded by teachers for indiscipline and misbehavior, had developed a grudge against the school administration, police said, adding that he had intended to fly back to his native place today.

But prior to returning home he "wanted to settle scores with the school. All the three had consumed alcohol and planned to commit theft and damage the school property," police said.

Investigation also revealed that last year Rohul had hit one of his girl classmates, belonging to his native state, with a glass bottle as a result of which she suffered a severe eye injury and remained hospitalised for a month, police said.

He had also misbehaved with a female teacher of the school who taught Accountancy to him and was considered as a violent, arrogant and aggressive student, police claimed.

The policemen were posted at the school since the incidents of vandalism in a church and theft in a missionary school in south Delhi, police said.
