In the last four months, 330 cases of rape were registered in Haryana while 1,024 dowry harassment cases were registered during this period, the state Assembly was informed today.
In a written reply to the question raised by INLD MLA Naina Singh Chautala, the House was informed that between October 26, 2014 to February 28, 2015, 330 cases of rape were registered across the state, out of which 32 were later cancelled.
As many as 180 cases of dowry harassment also stood cancelled out of the total cases registered, the Assembly was informed.

Seventy-nine dowry death cases were also registered, out of which three were cancelled after investigation.
Out of 271 cases of molestation, 37 were cancelled later and out of 169 registered cases of sexual harassment 26 were cancelled during the period.
In all, 2715 cases pertaining to crime against women were registered during the period, out of which 772 cases have been put in court and 1405 cases are under investigation. Conviction has been achieved in six cases, 45 cases ended in acquittal while 721 cases are under trial, the Assembly was informed.
