37 Field Regiment (Coorg) affiliated with Madras Regiment

The 37 Field Regiment (Coorg) was affliated with Madras Regiment at nearby Wellington today.

The charter was signed by Lt Gen P R Kumar, Commandant of Artillery Regiment and Lt Gen S L Narasimhan, Col of Madras Regiment at the "affiliation ceremony."

In his address, Narasimhan said three units had earlier affiliated with Madras Regiment -- Indian Naval Ship, Mysore in 2003, 16th Light Cavalry and 4 Field Regiment in 2008.

Coming together of the units would benefit Indian Army, he said.

Both the regiments were established in 1794, Kumar said.
