Four persons were killed and 15 others injured when a minibus overturned at Bada Kharida in Odisha's Ganjam district today, a police officer said.
The Purushottampur-bound over-crowded vehicle from Aska turned turtle after the driver pressed sudden brake to save a motor-cyclist, the officer said.
While two persons died on the spot, two others succumbed to their injuries at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, said Inspector in charge of Purushottampur police station B K Sahu.
The injured persons were undergoing treatment at the medical college and hospital here and their condition was stated to be serious.
Angry over the incident, people blocked the road demanding compensation to the families of the deceased and immediate steps to repair the road and lifted the blockade after some time.
