4 killed, 7 injured in road accident in Poonch

Four persons, including two women, were killed and seven others injured when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir today.

A Tata Sumo that was on its way to Khanetar from Poonch skidded off the road and fell into the deep gorge in Khanetar resulting in the death of the four passengers, a police officer said.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Rashid (40), Mohammad Sharif (72), Zubina Kausar (27) and Rubina Kausar (22), he said.

He said the rescue operation was launched and the injured were rushed to the district hospital at Poonch for treatment.
 

A case has been registered and investigation started, he said.
