40 detonators, six IEDs recovered

Forty pieces of detonators and six IEDs have been recovered during an anti-Maoist drive in the foothills of Parasnath jungle in Giridih district, the police said here today.

Superintendent of Police Akhilesh B Verior said the recovery was made during the operation yesterday when the security men and the naxalites exchanged gun fire.

The Maoists today triggered a blast in Parasnath jungles this morning, which did not harm anyone, the SP told reporters.

Additional Director General of Police (Operation) S N Pradhan said the operation would continue.

Inspector General of Police (CRPF) Sanjay Anand Latkar and Deputy Inspector General of Police (Hazaribagh) Upendra Kumar were among the senior officials overseeing the operation.
