5 youths feared drowned in Kovalam beach

Five youths are feared drowned after they went for a bath in the sea nearby Kovalam, police said.

Marine enforcement and Coastal Police are involved in the search operation to trace the five missing persons, belonging to the age group of 21-33.

The youths, hailing from here, had ignored the warning by police to not enter the sea in view of rough conditions and were swept away by waves at around 7 PM, police said.
