50-year-old woman arrested with heroin

She was apprehended from Sadar Bazar area yesterday on a tip off, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Sanjay Kumar Jain, said.

Kanta told the police that her husband, a street vendor, died ten years ago and to meet family expenses, she started selling heroin in Paharganj area, Jain said.

"She was earlier arrested in a drug peddling case in 2005," the DCP said, adding, "About six years ago, she married her brother-in-law Triloki, who is also declared a bad character by the police."
