5th edition of "Wipro earthian" launched

Wipro Limited today announced the launch of the fifth edition of 'Wipro earthian', a nationwide sustainability education program for schools and colleges.

The programme provides an interconnected understanding of different disciplines in education related to ecological and social sustainability, Wipro said.

It aims at long term education and learning that will help educators, students and educational institutions make more informed choices about their lives and society, it added.

Over the last five years, Wipro reached out to more than 1,00,000 students from over 50,000 institutions across the country for this program. Each year, 10 schools and 10 colleges are shortlisted for the awards.

HYSEA, TCA sign pact to tap ICT market development * Hyderabad: Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) and Taipei Computer Association (TCA) today signed an MoU to explore possibilities in developing and enhancing cooperation between India and Taiwan by creating opportunities in the field of ICT market development.

The cooperation will be in projects such as development of Smart Cities and in providing skill enablement for increased job opportunities in the ICT segment, such as hi-tech skill training as well as Mandarin and other such cultural training, according to a release.

The pact was signed at Progress Software here.

Both associations will facilitate regular, frequent and meaningful exchange of information on relevant aspects of their respective activities and other matters of common interest, expressing a common voice wherever possible.

Sun TV network partners with HOOQ for video-on-demand

Mumbai: Kalanidhi Maran-owned Sun TV Network today said it has partnered premium video-on-demand service provider HOOQ in a multi-year deal.

HOOQ is a start-up joint venture established in January 2015 by Singtel, Sony Pictures Television and Warner Bros.

HOOQ will carry Sun TV's library that includes a mix of super hit films from Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

"We are excited about the possibilities arising out of our association with HOOQ, a digital distribution platform of impeccable lineage. Sun TV holds a large library of blockbusters and timeless classics with enduring appeal," Sun Group Chief Financial Officer S L Narayanan said in a statement.

The content catalogue includes titles 3, Jilla, Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanaom, Manam Kothi Paravai, Mayakkam Enna, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, Ragalapuram, Kanchana, Neram, Kazhugoo, Sundara Pandian, Mankatha among others.
