6 children drown, bodies of 3 fished out

Six children today drowned in swollen Mayurakshi river in Dumka district with bodies of three recovered by the officials.

Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha said six children from Haripur village drowned while swimming in the rain-fed river during the day and bodies of three were fished out later on.

A search was underway for the remaining three children, Kumar said.
