Six members of an
inter-state gang of highway robbers were arrested from Muzaffarpur district and five pistols, several rounds of ammunition and a SUV (sports utility vehicle) recovered from them.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ranjit Mishra said all the six were arrested from a place on National Highway 57 near Kashi Rampur village under Bochaha police station in the district.

"The operation was conducted on the basis of intelligence inputs about the culprits assembling to commit road robbery. Apart from firearms, a huge quantity of fake medicines of reputed pharmaceutical brands have also been seized from them," Mishra said.
The SSP said the gang used to commit crimes on national highways and investigations are going on regarding their involvement in various cases.
