Sixty persons were injured, two seriously, in a Jallikattu (taming of the bull) festival near Ayyampatti, police said.
A total of 480 bulls participated in the festival and 450 bull tamers were allowed to take part, they said.
In another incident at Marvapatti near Dindigul, an inspector on security duty at a Jallikattu was injured when he was gored by a bull, police said.
The Jallikattu was organised in connection with a local temple festival and the official was regulating spectators when the incident occurred.
He was rushed to a hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.
